The Perfect Balance with the Nintendo Wii Fit

 

The Nintendo Wii Fit does for the body what Nintendo’s Brain age titles is intended to do for the mind. The Wii Fit provides an exercise program equal to that of your local gym or your ownpersonal trainer. In fact, with the Wii Fit there is no need for your own personal trainer. Whether it is a weight loss program or a cardiovascular program the Nintendo Wii will serve up a program designed just for you. The combination of tests, daily activities and fitness exercises, help you to set and reach fitness-related goals. Using the Wii balance board to input your height, weight and center of balance, the balance boards four sensors calculate your BMI or Body Mass Index. Additionally, the Wii fit will take into consideration your age and body control, in other words your balance control. After this calculation is complete, and your BMI has been established...let the fun and activities begin!

 

There are four categories of training that is provided and all come with its own personal trainer- yoga, strengthening, aerobics and balance. Imagine, your own personal trainer, whenever you want at no additional charge. These categories make up 40 activities that will focus on improving your skills and reaching your target BMI (body mass index). The more you play, the more credits that are earned. These credits allow you to unlock additional activities. As you unlock these additional activities, your skill level improves and your fitness level increases as well. But do not worry, you do not need to unlock all the activities at once and there is a favorites menu so you can save all the programs you are involved with and return to your favorite activities. There is also a calendar kept of the events to maintain proper records of what you have achieved.

 

Your own virtual yoga instructor is included to demonstrate the yoga moves on the balance board. During each position on the balance board, your virtual yoga instructor will tell you how you are doing, and even provide tips on how to improve based on your performance on the balance board. Simply amazing how your instructor can pinpoint where you may need improvement, and will give you the tips you need. This feature alone is incredible, unique and will astound you and encourage you to do better.

In the strength training category, your instructor will demonstrate exercises such as single leg extensions, push ups, and the jack knife. Again like the yoga instructor, your strength training instructor is there to give you the needed feedback on your progress and the necessary tips on how to improve each of the exercises.  We all know the benefits of a good aerobics program. Cardiovascular exercises are good for the heart, good for your cholesterol level and a good way to maintain or even lose weight.
